HIstory
we are not makers of history, we are made by history
- Martin Luther King, Jr
Xiphos eSports, formerly known as Death Company [DC] was founded back in 2005 as a DOTA clan by four friends who shared the same interests. Being the first clan in the history of Sri Lankan eSports and gaming, it also played a huge role in setting up Gamer.LK (Sri Lanka’s Gaming and eSports community) also known as GLK. The word got out and the numbers started to grow as did the name Death Company. By mid-2007, DC started to take part in competitive gaming and ever since has been taking part in all most every tournament held in the local gaming circuit, winning several titles along the way until the recent SLCG ’13. We also hosted what turned out to be one of the largest LAN parties in Sri Lanka, which were known as the L-series LAN parties and successfully hosted them for 7 consecutive years. Death Company was mainly a casual gaming clan which had a few competitive teams who helped the newer members in improving their skills. As the year 2013 ended, we clearly understood the potential we have as a competitive gaming clan. Hence, Xiphos eSport was born. The former members of DC along with a new administration rebranded Death Company into Xiphos eSports.
The aim of Xiphos eSports is to offer its existing members an unique gaming experience along with the required guidance and support to strive them to achieve greatness. Also to provide new-comers with the chance to be mentored by seasoned veterans in order for them to experience the game at a pro level. We are dedicated towards taking Xiphos to a higher competitive level in Sri Lanka and continue to acquire young and new talent and maintain our consistency in performance as a clan.
As a clan that played a crucial role in the inception of Gamer.LK, we have continued to worked with them closely throughout the years and supported them in every aspect possible. As Xiphos, we hope to continue to do the same in the future and thereby play our part to improve the quality of Sri Lankan eSports. Over the years we have produced many Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike 1.6 and DOTA players who have represented the clan locally as well as our country internationally. We are in fact the biggest name in the Sri Lankan eSports scene.

Events
If our lives are already written, it would take a courageous man to change the script
- Alan Wake
Xiphos eSports not only takes part in competitive games in Sri Lanka, but we have also organized different kinds of eSports events to build the eSports community in Sri Lanka and plan to do more in the near future…
LAN PARTY - L Series
We are the first and only clan to host large scale LAN parties for the
Sri Lankan gamers. LAN party is an overnight event where gamers
from all around the country will get together in Colombo to have
the best 36 hours of their lives gaming non-stop, meeting new
people, and most of all having fun by playing multiplayer games.
A LAN party is one of the best places for gamers to socialize with
their gaming peers. Tournaments can also be a good place to get to
know new gamers but because of the competitive nature of the
event you never get to see the lively personalities of the people that
you meet. But since this environment is very different, gamers can
have an awesome time with their friends. LAN parties are named as
L Series and over the years there have been 7 LAN parties
organized by us.
In 2021 we plan to bring in the 8th installation of the L Series in a
major capacity, catering to more than 100 participants.
SLT eSports
At the end of 2015, Xiphos eSports along with Redline Technologies came together to support Sri Lanka Telecom in organizing the firstever SLT eSports Championship. In a short amount of time, we lent our expertise and knowledge to plan out the event as well as the necessary manpower to make sure the event was a resounding success. Building on the platform of eSports already established in the country by existing tournaments such as Sri Lanka Cyber Games (organized by Gamer.LK), SLT eSports was able to take the standard of gaming and eSports to a completely different direction and new heights; with cash prizes that have been never awarded in prior tournaments we intended to reach the global gaming event standards. The standard set at this inaugural SLT eSports Championship has since then elevated the standards of all eSports events afterwards to new heights when it comes to major events in the Sri Lankan eSports calendar.
